RIVERS COMMUNITY CHURCH Purpose: To Live And To Love As Christ As Christ did, by the power of the Hold Spirit we will ... I. Enjoy God's Presence. (Worship) (1) To pursue a God-honoring, culturally relevant worship that enables us to celebrate freely the joy of God's presence. -- CV (2) To communicate God's Word clearly with an emphasis on sound doctrine, devotion to God, and our daily lifestyle. -- CV II. Demonstrate God's love. (Ministry) (3) To experience the Christian life in community (small groups) while also making a safe place for new people. -- CV (4) To discover and use our God-given gifts and abilities in serving God and others both in the church and the community. -- CV III. Communicate God's Word. (Evangelism) (5) To extend God's love and hope through the gospel message to all we can, however we can. -- CV (6) To participate in starting new churches both locally and globally. -- CV IV. Equip God's People. (Discipleship) (7) To grow in our commitment to Christ's Lordship and to personal holiness by encouraging consistency in the habits necessary for spiritual growth. (i.e. spiritual disciplines) -- CV (8) To purposely develop and provide ongoing nourishment and encouragement for leaders. -- CV (9) To equip and encourage families to be embassies for the kingdom of God, incorporating all of the above objectives.'.-- CV (10) To remember that excellence in serving our Lord Jesus Christ is not optional. -- CV (11) To emphasize prayer as essential in all decisions and for ongoing ministries. -- CV
