2-Per
Mission Fund
THE BACKGROUND: William Carey is known as the "Father of Modem Missions". Andrew Fuller was the pastor in England in the 18th century who go the local churches to support this new missions movement. He asked church members to contribute a penny a week to go toward missions.
Considering inflation we are modifying that figure to $2 per week.
THE PURPOSE: The money from this fund will go toward enabling our members to be involved in mission work themselves, such as
participating in a mission trip. The "2-Per
Mission Fund" is separate from the October Missions
Offering which supports International, North American, and
Ohio missions. Money may be designated for either
throughout the year.
HOW DO I DO IT? You should designate on your offering envelope that you want all or a certain portion of your offering to go toward the "2-Per Mission Fund". This money is over and above our usual tithe but you may include both in the same envelope or even on the same check with an explanation on the envelope.
In
2006 the .2-Per Mission Fund" was used to help members of
participate in a Mexico Mission Trip and the West Central
Baptist Association Church Planting survey. Past
2-Per Mission Fund uses included Sweden Mission Trip
(2005) and Mexico and Paris, France (2004).
